Carolyn has a long-established interest in historic places and a particular passion about gaining a greater understanding about their pasts to aid in securing their futures.

After gaining a degree in Architectural and Building Conservation, Carolyn spent several years working in conservation roles for local authorities in the UK. In 2009, she immigrated to New Zealand, initially taking up a position at Auckland City Council and subsequently undertaking heritage work for a number of other local authorities in the region. In 2012, Carolyn established The Heritage Studio Ltd. as a heritage consultancy specialising in architectural and building conservation.

With over 18 years’ experience, Carolyn has been involved with a range of heritage projects, and is adept at applying internationally recognised conservation principles and good practice. She is a full member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) and the International Council of Sites and Monuments New Zealand (ICOMOS), and is a trustee of the North Shore Heritage Trust.

Approachable and positive with a strong work ethic, Carolyn takes pride in every aspect of her work and in providing the best possible service to her clients.
